HELLO!!!

I know I haven’t been updating this blog for a very long time. I lost interest for awhile. Not that I am short of stories or happenings to tell… I just lost the zest. I couldn’t even stand the sight of my blog! What’s with that man??? Weird. But as they say, a break is sometimes good. It helps one to put things into perspective.

I am still a happy camper I was few months back. B is as wonderful as ever. Things are not perfect but fundamentally, we are truly happy together. We fought every now and then, but nothing out of the ordinary. We can never be mad at each other for long. We’re about one month shy of our first anniversary and guess what?? We’ll be Mr and Mrs on that day! What a way to mark our first year together. Yaay!

Speaking of which, most of the preparations are going ok. We took our time at ordering the invitation cards and now mommy dearest is screaming on top of her lungs because of that. It’s going to be mission almost impossible for mom and dad to distribute all the cards and receiving replies on time (plus the fact that we Malaysian are known for not responding to request for reply…yes, I was once guilty of that too :D).

We’re both very excited as we mark the days on our calendar one by one. I think both families share the excitement. B’s mom is on overdrive mode. What was supposed to be a small ceremony is now turning into one big event. We were slightly taken aback initially, but quickly realize that we both come from huge families. Just to put things into perspective…I have about 80 cousins. Yes, 80! And that is from mom’s side only. Yes, my families are rabbits. Procreating is our favourite past time. As far as I remember, we can never have anything on a small scale. It’s just not possible with my family. When everyone gathers, we end up cooking our meals by the “kawahs”*. Like kenduri* every time…

I digressed. Anyway, we don’t have that much time to play around with. It’s a fast-track project. B, being the Mr consultant that he is, decides to have everything on project management style. I must say, it has helped us a lot. Tasks become more bearable and possible when you break them into smaller components. Betul tak, B?

We can’t wait for the BIG day. Like any other couple who’s taking THE step, we pray it’ll last a lifetime and beyond. We’re getting into it with our eyes wide open and our hearts well-reminded. Insyaallah, we’ll both make it work this time.

To all my dearest friends, I can’t wait to see all of you in my “makmur”* state soon. Your presence means a great deal to me. I don’t need a glittery wedding. It’s good enough to be surrounded by my loved ones, whom I can share the special moment with and who are truly and sincerely happy for me…and B, of course.
